TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A south-central Idaho man facing charges in the death of his girlfriend's 20-month-old daughter has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. The Times-News reports that 33-year-old Joshua Molina of Jerome on Monday in 5th District Court also pleaded not guilty to four counts of injury to a child. Lyryk Altom died at a Boise hospital in October. According to court documents, a doctor told police that the child's head injuries were caused by non-accidental blunt force trauma.

A young boy drowned in Lake Erie after he was hit by a freak wave and washed out to sea as he picked up shells on the beach. Hunter Ebie, 11, was only paddling in ankle-deep water in Conneaut, Ohio, and was bending over to grab a shell when the wave grabbed him at around 1.30pm last Friday. His family said Hunter's mother Diana watched in horror and dived in to save him, but both were caught in a rip tide and she almost drowned.
