Do you want to download the Diablo 4 Server Slam version as soon as possible and help Blizzard wreck...err...we mean, test the D4 servers before launch? Then we've got you covered!
This step-by-step guide explains how you can download the Diablo 4 Server Slam stress test version early on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles, alongside the file size and what you can expect from the update in case you still have the Open Beta version installed.
Update on 16 May 2023: The Server Slam is now complete. We look forward to the launch and bringing you a plethora of Diablo 4 guides.
How To Download Diablo 4 Server Slam Early: PC, PlayStation & Xbox
You can start downloading the Diablo 4 Server Slam on 10 May 2023 at 12 p.m. PDT, exactly 48 hours before the stress test gets underway. Check out the step-by-step instructions on how to start the Diablo 4 Server Slam download per platform below.
D4 PC Download:
- Launch the Battle.net client. If Diablo IV is not already in your Favorites bar, you can add it by clicking on the + icon. Alternatively, you can find Diablo IV by accessing the All Games page. You’ll see Diablo IV at the top of the list.
- Once you get to the Diablo IV Game Page, click the dropdown menu under Game Version and select the Diablo IV – Server Slam option. Click the blue button that says Install. The game will begin to install, and once it’s available, click Play to Launch.
D4 Xbox Download:
- Launch the Xbox Store and search for Diablo IV–Server Slam. Select Download.
D4 PlayStation Download:
- Launch the PlayStation Store and search for Diablo IV–Server Slam. Select Download.
We suggest starting the download as soon as possible, especially if your internet connection isn't as fast as a Treasure Goblin after getting hit for the first time.
Diablo 4 Server Slam Download Size: How Big?
The Diablo 4 Server Slam download, if you haven't previously downloaded the Open Beta, is roughly 41GB on PC, and if you download the high-res assets, it is about 85GB. For those on PlayStation, it is 77GB, and lastly, the Diablo 4 download size for the Server Slam stress test on Xbox consoles weighs in at roughly 74GB.
Diablo 4 Server Slam Update & Content
The Diablo 4 Server Slam test has a character level cap of 20, features the Fractured Peaks zone, and all five classes. Basically, everything the Open Beta had, but with fewer Legendaries dropping to reflect what will be in the live version when the game launches in June. It has all the gameplay changes from beta learnings, as well as character class balance changes.
At the time of writing, it is unclear how big the Server Slam version update will be. To be clear, you don't need to re-download the whole Diablo 4 if you have played the beta. Once the early download period begins (10 May at 12 p.m. PDT), an update will be available for you to download. After D4 Server Slam starts, you can begin your journey and attempt to wreck those servers.
In case you missed it, you can check out the full, latest Diablo 4 dev livestream featuring special guest host Rhykker below, where the Server Slam stress test was announced, alongside a tonne of other details.
We suggest downloading the Diablo 4 Server Slam as soon as it becomes available for "early download" on 10 May 2023 at 12 p.m. PDT, as the file size is quite huge. We will endeavor to update this article if any more information becomes available.
